Provence, France Inspired Patterns
For the final quarter of my junior year, I had the pleasure to study abroad at SCAD's Lacoste, France campus. I spent March to May taking courses in Textile Design/Fibers, drawing, and painting. It was there that I completed the largest scale project I had ever worked on. I spent weeks hand painting three 9ft x 3ft patterns. Each of the motifs and colors are symbolic of the surrounding city. On our last night, I was able to showcase the Provence inspired patterns to all of Lacoste in an Open Studio organized by the professor and students of the Fibers course. I was also able to exhibit my work at SCAD day, where students, professors, faculty, and anyone in the surrounding area could come and view student work. In the last photo, you can see my friends hang the works to display at SCAD day.
